The Best Marketing AI Tools for 2023

I’m just coming out of my session, “Generative AI for Content Marketing: How to Maximize for Strategy, Opportunity, Ideation, & Considerations” at the AI for Marketers Summit. If you weren’t there, sorry I missed you! If you were, as promised, this is the follow-up quick hitlist of some recommended tools for you to get started.

As a promised follow-up, I have been working on a list of AI tools to get you started. This isn’t comprehensive — I think I saw there’s over 1,000 AI tools available now (haven’t tried them all yet 😉). But this is a flavor of what you can start to try/test/learn/experiment if you just got blocked out of getting a ChapGPT 4 subscription.

There were a lot of questions coming out of the session about how AI can help drive SEO. If your primary question is, “How can I leverage AI to drive more organic traffic at a low to no cost ongoing to my site?” then let’s think of it from that perspective. Of course, SEO isn’t ‘free.’ It’s about your SEO optimization, but also how you develop your content and how you distribute what you create — through email, sites, social or other channels.

Here’s a look at some of the more popular AI-powered SEO tools:

1. ClickUp: More than a project management tool, ClickUp offers SEO functionalities to organize and track SEO campaigns, facilitating team collaboration and efficiency in SEO efforts.
2. Surfer SEO: This tool provides comprehensive on-page SEO analysis and recommendations. It evaluates content against top-ranking pages and suggests optimizations for keywords, structure, and readability.
3. WordLift: WordLift is an AI-powered SEO tool that helps in optimizing content for better audience engagement and search engine visibility. It assists in structuring data and automating internal linking.
4. Jasper: Known for its AI writing capabilities, Jasper also offers features to optimize content for SEO, helping users create search engine-friendly and engaging marketing materials.

1. Grammarly: AI grammar checker with content generation assistance via GrammarlyGO. And for the Business level, you can create a style guide, brand voice/tone, and make it like a writer on your team.
2. ChatGPT: AI chatbot for conversational content generation and market research. A good general option, but extremely versatile. I use this daily, paid version.
3. Zapier’s AI Chatbot Builder: Custom AI chatbot creation leveraging OpenAI’s models.
4. FeedHive: AI tool for social media management, content generation, and monitoring.
5. TweetHunter: Really smart X integration, scheduling. But works well for creating for any channel with a ton of features. I use this daily.

AI-Powered Social Listening and Content Optimization

1. Clearscope: AI SEO content optimization tool for keyword insights and content structuring.
2. Buffer’s Analytics Features: Detailed social media analytics and performance tracking.
3. Mentionlytics: Brand and web monitoring with sentiment analysis.
4. Meltwater: Comprehensive social intelligence and trend tracking.

AI-Powered Competitor Analysis

1. Rival IQ: Social media analytics and competitor benchmarking.
2. Unmetric: Benchmarking and competitive intelligence for social media strategy, powered by Brandwatch — premiere intelligence tool for brands.

AI-Generated Visuals and Video Editing

1. Midjourney: Best-in-class image generator. Requires a Discord account, but makes the most realistic content of any tool. I use this with the annual paid subscription!
2. DALL-E: Unique AI image generation for brand-specific imagery. BTW this is also built into ChatGPT 4 now, so if you have paid subscription, it’s just a toggle away. I used this to make the image for presentation.
3. Descript: Video creation and editing with transcript editing feature. I’ve been using Descript for a few years now, it’s how I edited the conference video…amazing features and even better with new features like AI Eye Contact.
4. Canva: Social media graphic design with AI-generated templates.
5. Adobe Photoshop: Advanced AI photo editing and manipulation.
6. Predis.ai: Generate ready-to-post creatives in a few clicks.

AI Meme and Content Generation (for some fun!)

1. Supermeme.ai: AI tool for meme generation from text prompts.
2. Picsart: AI GIF generator for custom memes.
3. Kapwing AI Meme Generator: AI-generated and customizable memes.
